How to Connect Your Existing Ethernet POS Printer to Our App
If you already have an Ethernet POS printer installed in your restaurant, you can easily connect it to our app by following the steps below. Even if you don’t know your router’s login information or Wi‑Fi settings, this method works reliably and quickly.
1. Print the Printer’s Network Information
Most POS printers allow you to print a self‑test or network configuration page.
How to print the network info page:
- Turn off the printer
- Hold the Feed button
- Turn the printer back on while holding the button
- Release the button when printing begins
The printed page will show:
- IP Address
- Subnet Mask
- Gateway
- MAC Address
Note: Some printers do not display the Wi‑Fi SSID. This is normal and does not affect the setup.
2. Enter the Printer’s IP Address in the App
Open the app on your tablet or smartphone and go to the printer setup screen.
- Select Add Printer
- Choose Ethernet / Network Printer
- Enter the IP Address printed from the printer
You do not need the SSID for this step.
3. Connect Your Tablet to the Correct Restaurant Network
For the printer and the tablet to communicate, they must be on the same network.
If you don’t know which Wi‑Fi network the printer is using, simply try the available networks one by one.
How to find the correct network:
- On your tablet, open the Wi‑Fi settings
- Connect to one of the restaurant’s available Wi‑Fi networks
- Return to the app and tap Test Print
- If the test print works → You found the correct network
- If not, switch to the next Wi‑Fi network and repeat
Most restaurants have only 2–4 Wi‑Fi networks, so this process is quick.
4. Why This Method Works
- The printer already has an IP address assigned by the router
- You don’t need to know the router password or access the router settings
- You only need to match the tablet’s Wi‑Fi network to the printer’s network
- A successful test print confirms the correct network immediately
This is the fastest and most reliable way to connect an existing Ethernet printer in real restaurant environments.
5. Tips for Faster Troubleshooting
- If the printer’s IP address begins with 192.168.0.x, try networks using the same range
- If the printer is connected via LAN cable, it will always be on the main router’s network
- If the test print fails on all networks, restart the printer and try again
